If you got to this site, you probably found it because you needed it. Maybe you're still in it. Maybe you just got out. Maybe someone taped a notice to your door and the world didn't stop — it just kept going without you.
"They close the drawer on their filing cabinet for the night — and you go home. Oh wait. You don't have a home anymore."
That's what this is. To the system, you are a file. A case number. A defendant on paperwork — not a respondent, a defendant — before anyone has proven a single thing. The courthouse, the attorneys, the property managers, the mediators: they have all done this so many times that you are not a person to them anymore. You are a procedure.
They push around papers. You lose your home. They go home. You don't have one.
Five years in a place. People you love have lived there. Maybe died there. Maybe been born there. And it closes like a drawer. For what? For absolutely nothing, in more cases than anyone wants to count.
This site exists because that is wrong. And somebody needs to say so out loud, with their name on it.
They won't listen.
They don't care.
I will.
That's all I can do — but I'll do it.
